NOTE TO PARENTS

YOKIDSYO.COM was designed by parents for parents to provide children with a safer alternative to many of the popular social networking sites available online.  As such, the communications technology is configured in a manner which provides parents more control over who their children communicate with online.  Parents are responsible for deciding with whom their children can send and receive messages via a “white list” approach.  Parents will be provided a control panel allowing them to enter approved YOKIDSYO.COM “buddies” for their children’s account.  Children will only be able to communicate with their approved YOKIDSYO.com buddies and parents have complete access to their children’s usage information. In other words, parents decide who their children communicate with via a control panel and have full visibility into their children’s YOKIDSYO.COM usage.

WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND HOW WE USE IT

At YOKIDSYO.COM, users are required to register to become members before they are allowed to use the messaging and chat services within YOKIDSYO.COM.  During the registration process parents are asked for certain “personally identifiable information” such as your name, email address, state and country of residence.  Once the parent account is established, parents are responsible for registering their children on YOKIDSYO.COM.  The only information required to register children includes their desired screen name and password.  YOKIDSYO.COM will ask for the child’s birthday and gender so that we may send them an online birthday card and/or deliver gender specific content.  Entering this information is completely optional.  This information helps YOKIDSYO.COM facilitate compliance with child online privacy regulations.

Within some of our activities online (such as polls or surveys) we may ask for additional information, but in no case will this be personally identifiable information.  

An IP address is a number that's automatically assigned to your computer whenever you're surfing the Web. Web servers, the big computers that 'serve up' web pages, automatically identify your computer by its IP address.

YOKIDSYO.COM collects IP addresses for the purposes of system administration, to report aggregate, or combined, information to our advertisers, and to audit the use of our site. When users request pages from the YOKIDSYO.COM Web site, our servers log the user's IP addresses. We do not normally link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable, which means that your session will be logged, but you remain anonymous to us. We can and will use IP addresses to identify a user when we feel it is necessary to enforce compliance with our rules or terms of service or to protect our service, site, customers or others.

During the registration process you may elect to directly receive promotional information about business partners of YOKIDSYO.COM via email.  You may view and make changes to your account information, including these options, at any time.

If our plans regarding your Personally Identifiable Information change, we will provide you with a prominent notice on our web site, and give you an opportunity to delete your Personally Identifiable Information from our records.

OPTING-OUT

To keep you in control of your personal information and the communications directed to you, we allow you to opt-out of receiving certain communications from YOKIDSYO.COM about new features or services. If a member objects to such use for any reason, you may stop that use by modifying your member information online.

CONTESTS, PROMOTIONS AND EMAIL USAGE

YOKIDSYO.COM will use your e-mail address to send correspondence about important updates to the website or your membership.  Also, when a message is sent to your screen name when you are not logged into your YOKIDSYO.COM account an email message will be sent to your email address notifying you that you have a message in your YOKIDSYO.COM mailbox.  You will then be able to log into your YOKIDSYO.COM account to retrieve your message.

THIRD PARTY COOKIES

In the course of serving advertisements to this site, our third-party advertiser may place or recognize a unique "cookie" on your browser.

USE OF TRAFFIC DATA

Each time a visitor comes to our Web site, we collect some information to improve the overall quality of the online experience. At the Web site, we collect the visitor's domain name (i.e., where the user is logged on, such as from Yahoo.com, etc.), referral data (e.g., we record the address of the last URL a user visited prior to clicking through to the YOKIDSYO.COM Web site), and browser and platform type (e.g., a Netscape browser on a Macintosh platform). While YOKIDSYO.COM has configured various technologies in a manner intended to provide a safer internet environment for our children it’s the parents that are ultimately responsible for child safety.  YOKIDSYO.COM was designed by parents for parents to provide a set of tools allowing more control over who our children communicate with online.  It is up to each parent user to utilize the tools in the proper manner and to maintain visibility into how their children are using the internet.

By using this site, you signify your assent to the YOKIDSYO.COM Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use the site.
